(FILES) Students have a meal at a CROUS (Centre Regional des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires) university restaurant at the Bordeaux University in Talence, south-western France, on April 24, 2026. From May 4, 2026, all students, regardless of their income, will be able to eat in university canteens for just one euro a measure called for by student organisations and included in the 2026 budget as a concession by the government to Socialist MPs. The one-euro meal in canteens run by the Regional Centres for University and School Services (Crous) already exists for students on grants and those in financial difficulty.
